Happy new year! I’ve resolved to start 2019 with a whole load of new content, and a bunch of healthy recipes to share with you all. Not just for kids, and not just for people with diabetes; here are the healthy meals, snacks, drinks and treats that we love. We’re now on Instagram too, so pop on over and follow us there. I hope you like the new look!
We started today with this delicious smoothie. Filling enough to be a complete breakfast, the slow release oats keep you going all morning. And today’s sensor data showed no spikes at all, unlike after a typical breakfast cereal. The original recipe is in the Carbs & Cals smoothie book, but I adapted it as follows:
Ingredients:
60g frozen mixed berries (mine included blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, redcurrants and blackcurrants)
½ a red apple, chopped
3 tablespoons oats
1½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
100g natural yogurt
100ml semi-skimmed milk
Method:
Put everything into your Nutribullet or blender and blitz until smooth.
